Seven Inspired Thoughts

While it can be easy in a given moment or situation to find the despair, or frustration or anger; there are those who reach time and again for a better feeling thought. As they do, there is frequently an unearthing of genuine wisdom and heartfelt certainty. Our lives are constantly open for interpretation - primarily by ourselves. I consistently remind patients their reality is birthed from perception, which arises from belief, which is born of a thought. Ergo, the next time you find yourself feeling despairing, or frustrated or angry; revisit the situation and find a better thought. You'll find it can be just as easy to assume the best in someone than to imagine the worst. In essence, thinking the better thought means telling a better story. A better story creates a better life and...I think you can see the pattern.

Geniuses throughout time represent those to whom we revere as great masters of thought, belief and creation. They may not all have been masters of pure intelligence, rather they imagined the world in a newer, better way. The word genius is derived from the root genui, "to bring into being, create, produce." Genius shares the same root origin as Genisis, the Biblical story of creation. You, I and all of us share the same spark of genius. To find the confidence to express ones own genius is to find inspiration for life. What are you waiting for? Will you be the next great genius? It always starts with a thought. Thinking better thoughts creates truer beliefs which produce inspired lives.

In my life, I have been blessed to have known a great many inspired individuals. The following are a list of seven quotes that have molded and shaped my life. The persons represented here are truly wise souls. These are my geniuses.

1. "Count your blessings, for those who do will be given more to be thankful for."
     - Dr. John Demartini
2. "Never be too high or too low -- always be on an even keel."
     - Coach Pat McConn
3. "The master craftsman never blames his tools."
     - Coach Victor Moreland
4. "Give your full attention to the only thing you can control -- that being how you feel in any given circumstance."
     - Abraham
5. "Learn to grow the interest that comes from investing into the lives of others."
     - Dr. Dustin Thomas
6. "Make hay while the sun shines."
     - Dad
7. "Mediocrity is self-inflicted. Genius is self-bestowed."
     - Walter Russell
